Advantages:

- Users must either have a Gmail account or make a google docs account to use.
- Some obscure file formats are still not supported.
- Must be connected to internet.
- Speed of google documents greatly depends on speed of internet connection.
- Sometimes can cause issues with firewalls when downloading/uploading documents.
